Changing A Wordpress Header Logo

May 24th, 2006 · No Comments

Well after taking a few weeks off due to weddings and vacation, I am finally back and ready to get this whole Wordpress thing going. So here is what I am doing today. Although the default header that comes with Kubrick is nice, I wanted something a little bit more me, not a bunch of colors. So here are the steps I took to change my logo.

  1. First thing I had to do was plan for the new image, meaning I had to figure out the dimensions of the images that I want. I decided on a size of 760px X 200px. This size will fit well with how I want the blog to look after I apply more style to it.
  2. Next thing I did was crop my photo in Photoshop to the previously mentioned size. After cropping the photo I had to save it as “kubrickheader.jpg”. Yes I used a JPEG because it’s a photo and I want it to have a little higher quality.
  3. Now I fired up my favorite FTP program and uploaded the file to the following location:  /wp-content/themes/Jason/images
  4. Now take a look at your blog and the header will be changed.

It seriously don’t get much easier than that.
