Replace your Shrink?

October 29th, 2006 · No Comments

The website Ars Technica is reporting about a study that hasn’t been released yet, that suggests that reading educational websites is as good as going to see your shrink. So I don’t know about you, but every time I have made a visit to a psychotherapist we weren’t doing a bunch of reading. In fact I don’t see how something like this would work, unless you have someone talking back to you. Don’t get me wrong, there have been times I’ve been on the computer reading something and had to shout out about how stupid someone was or how funny a particular email was. (Actually I still laugh that some of the same emails are going around that have been going around since the beginning of email).
What I really want to know, is how are they going to solve the issues of those folks that need medication. I really really hope they don’t have a website that replaces that as well.
