KROQ is Brilliant

So KROQ still hasn’t played Everlong by the Foo Fighters. Good work people! Think about how much advertising these guys have sold, during the weekend people were tuned in pretty much around the clock. So I’d have to say that these guys are genius for pulling a stunt like this. They say that it’s an attempt to limit the number of scalpers that can get their hands on tickets. So if I were a betting man I would bet that they don’t release tickets but a few days before the concert, although that could work against them.
KROQ can’t stop scalping completely, it just can’t happen. Someone is going to get their hands on tickets and at the last minute isn’t going to be able to go, so they are going to post those tickets on eBay. It’s going to happen trust me, and they are going to make a ton of money. It also appears that some people are getting rather pissed off at this whole situation. Some listeners have called in saying that they aren’t going to listen to KROQ anymore for this. Oh Please!! Are you really going to stop listening to KROQ because of this? No. Are you going keep listening when you can until you know for sure that tickets are already on sale? Yup. Have you just become so much more acquainted with each of the groups playing either night of the Almost Acoustic Christmas? For sure. How many ads have you listened to that you would normally either turn the station during or totally ignore? Too many to count.
So enjoy the greatest prank that KROQ has ever played, and if you’re lucky enough to be listening when they actually do play Everlong, buy those tickets. For all the die hard listeners this is nothing, and for those who weren’t before this, welcome to the family. Anyone that waits this long to get tickets, is going to enjoy the show that much more.
