Use Star Power to Rock the Crowd

April 14th, 2007 · No Comments

In Guitar Hero II not all crowds are created equal. In anyone’s career there comes a defining moment when one might, and probably will, get booed off the stage. And your luck if they only boo you, they could throw things too. This, my friend is a sign that you need some more shreducation. Sometimes you need enough juice to get you out of the red and into the yellow to grab that three star performance and move on to the next song.
So how then can you use Star Power to keep on rocking while missing a few notes? Well it’s easy, here’s what you have to do. First you must understand that Star Power is based on the notes played during a Star Power segment, not the length of time. So those long single notes in songs like “Possum Kingdom”, aren’t going to do you any good in racking up the points. The best way to use Star Power is to wait until you’re at a 4X multiplier and pull the neck of the X-plorer towards the heavens. This activates Star Power and if you hit most of the notes you’re going to score big time. Remember if you have Star Power ready and you’re dangerously close to getting yanked off the stage, activate SP and win the crowd back in a big way. If you know you’re coming up to a flurry of notes, even if you have the bare minimum Power stored up, that’s the time to unleash it.
