The Apprentice was chosen

April 23rd, 2007 · No Comments

Well, well, well, how right could I have been? Yup, if you read any of my other posts you would have noticed that I picked he winner of The Apprentice LA a few weeks ago. It really wasn’t that hard, but Trump did have me a little nervous right to the very end in the season finale. The final episode of this season was actually pretty anti-climatic. I mean walking into it everyone knew that Frank and Nicole blew the last task. Don Jr. very intelligently pointed out that the team of Frank, Nicole, Surya and Tim offended half of America by making fun of a smelly homeless person. By and large their commercial just wasn’t that good, and they showed why they really were the “B” team.
As expected the final two came down to Stefani and James. Well maybe not as expected, because James was kind a loud mouth, but at least we knew that Stefani would be in the final two. Trump fired Frank and Nicole, which only left Stefani (of course) and James. At this point in the show it was time for Don Sr. to give his kids (Don Jr. and Ivanka) some of the limelight and let them ask a few questions of the remaining two. After all, this is their company too, and once Donald Sr. kicks the bucket who’s NBC going to turn to. The one thing everyone had a question about for Stefani, was whether or not she could be a leader. They noted that she was never selected as project manager and always kind of stayed in the background. Her rebuttal to this was pure lawyer, she reminded everyone that she had never been asked into the boardroom and nobody had anything bad to say about her. She added that not only was she the “real” leader because she was leading from the background and always up to task getting everything done by those that couldn’t get their tasks done. The Trumps pretty much had nothing to say at that point.
James on the other hand, had a much different set of questions. As Donald Sr. pointed out, James personality might not allow him to fit into the Trump organization. Which as you may remember from the pervious candidates that made it, it’s not the person who’s the loudest or toots their own horn, it’s the person with the quickest whit and most confidence. Well James sure has confidence in himself, but like Frank he doesn’t have the polish to work for Trump. As you can imagine, James was fired and Stefani was hired. Was it really that much of shock? Not really.
So Stefani wins the apprentice and of course I think that was a good decisions. She told Trump she was going to go work on the project in the Bahamas, which again I say “good choice”. However one question hasn’t been answered? Why. Why would you leave the job in LA to go work for Trump. Only she can answer that, but I do have to say that this season of The Apprentice was one of the best. We can only hope that next seasons brings us characters like this one, and we aren’t just talking about the Trumps.
