Guitar Hero II Technique - Changing Button Borders

June 6th, 2007 · No Comments

Ever been strumming along to your favorite song, and then all of a sudden you start paying attention the screen and you notice that the border around the buttons has changed? What does this all mean? Is it a glitch in the system? No, it’s actually an indicator that with the right technique the game can get a whole lot easier, and help you nail those really fast sections of a song where the notes are next to each other. In the fast paced sections of a song, you may notice the border around the buttons on the screen change color. What this is telling you is that, you can stop strumming and use the hammer on or pull off techniques. Hit the strum button on the first note and then concentrate on playing the fret keys for the remaining notes. Just make sure that your note playing stays clean or else your going to need to start strumming again.
If I were you I would learn this technique on the easier levels and let it carry through to the more advanced levels. If not, you’re going to be one tired guitar player by the end of tour.
