Cheaters Never Prosper

February 4th, 2008 · No Comments

Yesterday, like the rest of the world, I watched the Giants beat the Patriots. What a great feeling to watch a team that didn’t cheat during the season, beat the the team that did. Of all the Super Bowls that I can remember, this was one of the best ever. I’m not a huge football junkie, but after playing fantasy football, it’s hard not want to check out the sports biggest showcase. So this year I decided it was time to stay home and watch it. I mean now I have a 50″ Plasma and HD service, plus it was raining outside, so who needed to go out in that? Not me, not with three other people who could care less about the game.
So there I was, watching the game, NO beer this year, I was loaded up with Root Beer and chips and dip, and ready to watch some Super Bowl coverage. I tuned in a 1/2 hr early, just so I could get a taste of what was to come. However, upon tuning in, I was greeted with the worse Super Bowl pre-game announcer I could think of. Ryan Seacrest. That’s right, for a moment I thought I was on the wrong station, who the hell wants to see this guy associated with anything in the sports world. Seriously, the guy from KISS FM in LA, and one the most non-athletic people I can think of. Sure he’s not a large guy, in stature that is, but when I hear his name I don’t think “Sports”. Nor did I think sports when I saw a red carpet before the Super Bowl. Hey fox, this is football remember and we don’t care if any writers are on strike.
With all that aside, I think the broadcast was excellent, down to the stats they gave us that teams leading at the half are something like 32 - 7. So in all I have to say that this Super Bowl will go down as probably one of the most memorable in history, and this year I didn’t fall asleep in the middle of it.
