What Else, A New Project
Well it’s that time of the year again and I’ve got yet a new project. This time the project is a bit different than the normal Django website build off. A month ago I decided to purchase an industrial strength embroidery machine, and ever since I’ve been off and running doing things that simply weren’t possible with my last machine. One of the aspects of the new machine that really drove me to purchase it, was the fact that I can now use this machine to do hat. Which naturally means there is a new website that I need to setup and get rolling. So my new side business, or project rather, because it will still be an extension of Orange Count Print House, will be Left Side Lids. Yes, LeftSideLids.com will be available in the coming weeks, but this time I PROMISE to keep this blog updated on the progress.
Here are the features of what I have planned for the new site.
- A Store full of custom embroidered hats
- The site should be community based. Meaning if you have a design, you should be able to sell it on the site. All we will do is charge for the digitizing and then the embroidering of the hat. Potentially someone could start their own cafepress type of deal with the site.
- A blog that will update readers about the wearable industry and new releases to our store.
- I would like to create a shopping cart, such as Satchmo Project. However, the initial launch is going to include paypal only. Eventually I’ll either use Satchmo or create my own.
- A very stylish design, focused primarily on the product itself.
I think that’s about it right. Simply really, but I’m hoping this is the one that finally pays off. Well to be honest, I hope I can make some cool hats and feed my obsession of creating cool things to wear.
