Creating some Lids

June 11th, 2008 · No Comments

Left Side Lids Logo So I’m underway with my latest venture ( Custom Embroidered Hats ). However, this isn’t about hats, no it’s about building the website that will feature the hats. So the first thing I did was get Django configured and get my cssblueprint files in place. Next I had to decide how I was going to format the site and make it stand out from my other sites. So after thinking through things a bit, I decided that type of people that were going to browse my shop, would be men, especially since I’ll be starting out selling hats for men. So the color choice I’m making is of the gray family. Light/dark gray’s and a few blues and blacks. I’ve also created a new logo, which is what you saw in the beginning of the post.
So I’ve got the rough draft of the site available and online. Now it’s down to styling the rest of the homepage. I’ve decided to put the logo in the header on the left side and the search box on the right side. I’m having a heck of a time centering both of the vertically, but I’m sure by the end of the day I’ll have it all complete.
After the homepage is complete, I’m going to move on to creating my model which will define my store and each of the individual hats. More on this later.
