I gave in the other night and sat down and watched “Dancing with the Stars” with Yvonne. Mostly the show is a real drag and I don’t get what all the excitement is about. With that being said, I did notice a similar and somewhat confusing “Idol” kind of moment on this show. Not that I watch American Idol that much either, but both of these shows do something that I find odd. Read the rest of this entry »
As anyone who knows me can tell you, I’m not much for dressing up and rarely wear anything but T-Shirts. Thus it would probably be no surprise that a few years ago I started my own screen printing company. During this time I had a somewhat odd passion for collecting quotes that I thought would look great on T-Shirts. Ok, so your asking “What does this have to do with Django?”. Trust me, I’m getting there. Well once upon a time I created a site called www.cynic-tees.com and posted a few shirts here and there, and basically used the site to test out different web design tactics. During that process I even sold a few shirts and made a few bucks off of adsense. So it was more or less a wash. But now I’ve gotten re-energized and decided to give it a try for one full year. So here’s what I’m planning to do with www.cynic-tees.com. Read the rest of this entry »
There is no question that Django (The worlds greatest web framework
) is growing in popularity, especially in Southern California. I for one would like to get together with like minded Django developers, and see what others are doing with the code base. My question is this: Are there others out there that would be willing to do the same? If there is a group already out there I’d like to know about it, if not I’d be willing to start one. If anyone else is interested, let me know and lets put something together.

Tonight I will be making my annual trek to Las Vegas for a few days of Basketball fun. For I don’t know how many years now, I’ve been heading to Las Vegas with my friends to enjoy March Madness. Usually the madness happens on Thursday night as we all get together to talk about what’s new. This year I expect it to be no exception. I’ll be heading out of town with Derek (my co-pilot) late Wednesday night, staying in Primm, and then heading to Sin City on Thursday. I’m looking forward to one hell of a time this year.
I also plan to keep the blog up while I’m there, because this year we are bringing cameras. Watch out Las Vegas.
I got an interesting email from a person that was viewing my Ultimate Guitar Hero site (www.ultimate-guitarhero.com). The questions was more or less a statement that said “Can’t you come up with some cool stuff to do on the site”. The user, Chimee, asked the following question: “Is it possible to add more to the site than simple just news and tricks?”. So that got me thinking, well of course it’s possible, but what things might a person browsing a guitar hero site might want to see? Well that got me thinking even more, and since the site is built with Django, it got me thinking even more about all the cool things I can do, but haven’t tried yet. So here a few things I hope to with my Django site.
